Cool Tip To Find Untapped Niche Keywords
I got an e-mail yesterday from my buddy, Andrew Hansen, who created Firepow and PnP, with a great video about finding good, untapped niche keywords.
Watch his video below, it should help you find some good gold nugget keywords.
Enjoy…
Having trouble making sales? This may make it easier…
OK, if you are having trouble selling digital e-books, whether you can’t connect with the customer or there is just way too much competition, watch this video on a whole other world in affiliate marketing that most affiliates don’t even bother with – BUT, and keep this a secret — it’s profitable!
So, what’s up with the guitar niche?
OK, so it’s been a while since I posted directly about my “learn guitar” campaign. It is still going and I am still working it. I have had a few sales, so I consider it a success.
There is not a whole lot to say about it other than I continue to post content, ping, submit feeds and build backlinks to the site. All the things that I have shown you in the video posts.
And that seems to be the “mystery” of internet marketing strangely enough. Many, many people seem to think it is this sexy, get rich quick scheme where you use some secret methods to get traffic and make a ton of money.
When in reality, it is a business that takes time to flourish and grow. For this guitar site, I now know that 1) it sells and 2) there is traffic. So, from here, I add additional keywords, test headlines, videos, products, etc., or maybe start a list. But what I am ultimately doing is methodically building a piece of real estate on the web that will provide me passive income for many, many years to come.
So, I continue to build it a little bit, every single day. Then, as a month, 3 months, or a year goes by, I have so much frickin’ authority on this site that I will dominate my search terms, guaranteed.
Right now I am on the 1st page for the name of 2 products in this niche and one of my search terms. Think about a year from now how many search terms I will dominate for!
This contrasts starkly to how I did IM when I started. The routine was – find a niche, find some keywords, build a Squidoo lens, write some articles and wait for a sale. Make no sales, get discouraged and move on to another niche. And I would repeat this process over and over – I have A TON of content online, unfortunately it’s in A TON of DIFFERENT niches and DIFFERENT sites.
Focus, focus, focus on one or two niches, get the foundation built, and then build a frickin skyscraper. Outsource the link building once you are making some sales and start on the next one. You will not only make some money, but you will probably make a lot of it.
As time goes by I’ll keep you posted, but for now I am continuing the same boring stuff and starting some new sites in different niches.
Continue building…
P.S. – I am working on a video right now on what to do if you are struggling to make any sales. It kind of goes contrary to what most people teach in IM when you start out, but it can be 1) a lot less time consuming, 2) be 1,000 times less competitive and 3) you can see sales much quicker.
Stay tuned.
Important News
Hey, I wanted to post this because I think it’s important.
IF you have ever been interested in joining me over at Wealthy Affiliate, the price is going up June 7th.
Kyle, one of the founders of WA, announced last week that they were implementing a “significant” price increase over what it is now.
Right now it is $39 per month if you pay monthly, and $29 per month if you pay annually.
It’s where I started my IM career and it has been instrumental in my success, not only for its awesome tools, but also for its fantastic community.
So, again, IF you have been thinking about joining, now would be the time to give it some serious consideration, and get grandfathered in BEFORE the price goes up.

Oh, and if you were never thinking about joining, ignore this post!!
Why do you buy stuff?
Why do you go online and buy things? Why do you buy things in stores? If you break it down, what information do you really want and need to hit that final “Buy Now” button.
Does it depend on what you are buying? The cost? Do you like really detailed specs or is just a summary fine?
What is it that tips you over the edge to say in your head “OK, I have enough information, I’m ready to buy?”
If you go through this process in your mind when you buy things, don’t you think most other people do too?
You see, this is the essence of marketing online (and marketing in general). Giving people the information they need to make a decision to buy.
Screaming “BUY, BUY, BUY” on your site simply DOES NOT WORK. It’s like a used car salesman and totally turns people off.
I have been guilty of it and so are about 99% of online marketers out there. Why is this?
Well, I think it’s because when you first get into marketing online, that’s most of what you are exposed to, you don’t know any better. All of the slick sales letters, and being exposed to all of the other crap that other new marketers are putting online influences you to do the same thing.
But you have to STOP. People DO NOT want to be sold to, they want to find answers to their questions and solutions to their problems. Your ONLY job is to answer those questions and offer those solutions, simple as that.
It’s hard to do, believe me.
One way I have trained myself to take this approach is to NOT think about selling anything on my site. I put myself into the shoes of my visitors and ask myself some questions:
- If I were looking for this information, what would I want to know?
- What questions would I ask?
- What questions should I ask?
- How would I want this information shown to me?
- How much is it?
- How much is it compared to other alternatives?
- How do the different ones compare in reliability and price?
- What would make me hit the “Buy” button?
Brainstorm a little bit and put yourself in the shoes of your visitors.
So, if you are having problems converting visitors into buyers, step back and examine your copy.
Are you screaming “BUY, BUY, BUY” or are you truly trying to help people find a solution to their problem.
Very Cool Strategy…
I get asked by my subscribers all the time how I can have so many niche blogs and sites and keep them updated so frequently.
Well, here is one of my “secrets” that I use.
It’s no secret I use Unique Article Wizard to build a ton of backlinks and get unique content published all over the web. I consider it a “must have” tool in my SEO arsenal.
But one thing I didn’t know you could do with it that I recently figured out (without being a subscriber!) was that you can have content automatically posted to your Wordpress blog.
And the cool part is it is completely free – yep, you don’t have to buy UAW to use this free Wordpress plugin.
In a nutshell, here’s how it works:
- You install the plugin on your Wordpress blog;
- You specify what topics of the articles you want sent to your blog (this is determined based on your categories on your blog);
- You specify a few other preferences, like if you want to approve the post before it is published (which is what I do), how many posts you want published per day, if you want video, etc.
That’s about it – and here is the even cooler thing. In Wordpress, every time you update your blog, it gets pinged automatically, which tells search engines and other sites that your content has been updated.
If you post interesting stuff, your post can easily get published somewhere else, which gives you another backlink and more exposure to your content.
Over time, this is extremely powerful for gaining rankings.
So, again – it’s free, it frees up your time, and it’s extremely powerful...
You can get the free Wordpress plugin here
Once you go to this page, scroll down and you will see the link for the Wordpress plugin. Click it and it will take you to the instruction page on downloading and activating it.
Have fun with it!
It happened sooner than I thought…
I got my first sale yesterday with the guitar niche. Quite frankly this happened sooner than I thought it would. I have only gotten about 40 clicks to the sales pages, so that is pretty quick to me.
Also, the sale was not even the main product I am promoting! Hmmm.
So, from here I will keep promoting just like I have been except add in some new keywords to target, just as I was planning on doing anyway.
One sale means nothing really, but I still get a thrill when I get them, especially in a niche I have never gone into. And I am not concerned that I didn’t get a sale of the main product I was promoting – if this happens some more I may change the main product to the one that is selling.
Not that I want to invite competition, but the website I made is http://www.learnelectricguitaronline.net.
It’s a simple “review” style site made with Affiliate Genie (which makes the whole process extremely easy by the way). I started off targeting a few keywords, like “learn electric guitar online,” “learn to play the electric guitar,” and “learn to play electric guitar.”
But I stopped targeting these and targeted product names ONLY, like Jamplay, Guitartricks, Elmore and Jamorama. I also added extensions to these keywords like “review,” “reviews,” “lessons,” “scam.” You get the idea.
Then I did exactly what I have been explaining on this blog in THIS POST by getting my content out there and building links. I use SENUKE to save time and automate the process, but all of this can be done by hand.
Otherwise, that’s it. It’s not rocket science. To me it’s a numbers game – you find a hungry crowd, find an affiliate product, build a blog or a site, drive traffic, and you will make sales.
Does it happen overnight? Sometimes yes, but it’s rare. It takes time, patience and work, but you can make it happen.
I will keep you updated on how this site grows and progresses, but I plan on continuing to spread content and links so that it becomes a nice little passive income generator for me.
And I am also working on some cool stuff I will be posting here in the coming weeks on new ways of building links as well as how you can make a ton of money in little goldmine niches that literally no one goes after.
