Another great video full of excellent advice. I’m implementing the advice in a couple of sites I’ve got up and hope to finally have some sustained success i this game. I’ve laid off IM for a while after becomming absolutely sick of all the crap out there, my head exploded.
I’m here to give it another shot and your videos are really helping me make sense of it all. Thanks for taking the time to make and share them.
Paul
I meant to ask you. I don’t like the idea of using other peoples articles to populate my site, mainly because the links may dag people away. I can take an article and rework, put it into my own words in about ten to fifteen minutes, but I ask myself “is this ethical?” What do you think, is it?
My reasoning is that it’s just information that’s out there to be freely used. I hate article spinners because of the gibberish they turn out, they also take so long that i can write two or three of my own articles by the time they’re finished.
Does populating a blog automatically with software like wp-o matic reduce the effectiveness of the blog?
Is unique content always the best?
Thanks Paul, I know what you mean by taking some time off, it can get really frustrating. And taking the time off I have found actually recharges me a bit.
Good luck.
I have done it a few different ways –
1. I have populated with other peoples work and kept links intact. BUT, before and after the post I add something like “For more information on _______, CLICK HERE” or whatever. I have not found that the other links distract the viewers too much. I do it though to 1) get content on a new blog immediately, 2) get automatic, continuous info on my blog when I don’t have the time and 3) for a better reader experience.
2. I have taken others articles and spun them. I have the same feeling sometimes, “is this ethical?” I think its borderline. Not to use the old adage “everyone else is doing it” but I’m sure my articles have been stolen more than a few times. I think it is up to each individual person whether they do it or not and how they feel about it.
If you make it unique through spinning or otherwise, then technically it is unique. And I use a spinner software that produces good results that I control because for the time it takes me to spin the article, I can have 100 unique versions of the article instead of 2-3.
3. I re-write someone elses article – I do this most often because its a simple way to get info I need on the subject without doing a ton of research, and I rewrite it into my own unique words.
